Facing a transplant or other complex medical procedure presents a difficult challenge for you and your family. While most people will never need these procedures, it's comforting to know the National Medical Excellence Program is here to help. The program provides:
Transplantation Services
You’ll have a registered nurse transplant manager to help you during every phase of the transplant process, from evaluation through post-transplant recovery. This nurse will coordinate your care through the Institutes of Excellence™ network, a network of experienced facilities that have met enhanced quality criteria.
Care Management for Rare and Complex Conditions*
If you have a rare or complex condition that requires specialized care, Aetna case managers will coordinate your treatment arrangements at a network tertiary care facility.
Out-of-Country Care Emergencies
Aetna case managers can also help you access emergency medical care if you are temporarily traveling outside the United States.
